What is Brazilian Zouk?
Brazilian Zouk emerged in the 1990s from Caribbean Zouk and Lambada. It is characterised by flowing, wave-like upper body movements and a close, trusting connection between partners.
It doesn't just sound – it feels. Zouk is a dance that speaks through the body, where every movement grows from the music.
History and Development
Brazilian Zouk originated in Bahia. It spread worldwide through dance companies and digital media. Today, elements of contemporary dance and tango flow in – Zouk continuously reinvents itself.
